When to Use

The primary identifier for your site. Lets the user know the name of the site at a glance. A masthead is required for all WVU websites.

Content Model and Styling Guidelines

The following guidelines will help ensure your content and styling follow our design principles, and ensures consistency and unity across your pages as well as other WVU-branded websites.

Content-Specific Guidelines

Content Max Characters Description
Logo Lockup Title* 56 The name of the site e.g. “College of Law,” “Center for Resilient Communities,” unless your site is a faculty site or should be co-branded with a larger organization (see examples below). In the latter case use the name of the parent or partner organization.
Co-Brand Title 56 The name of the partner organization.
Co-Brand Subtitle 56 A subtitle for the organization, or in the case of a faculty member, the name of their department.
Parent Organization 36 The name of the parent organization e.g. if the title of the site is the “School of Music,” the parent organization would be “College of Creative Arts.”
Buttons 16 ea. Important user actions e.g. “Apply” or “Request Info.”
